James River Smallmouth Club welcomes your interest in becoming a member.  Our club is currently limited to  30* two man teams.  Our 1999 membership was 24 teams.  Current members get first choice to join for the coming year, after current members, we will fill the remaining spaces on a first-come, first serve basis.

We fish approximately 6 to 8 tournaments per year.  These are on Saturday's from late February or early March to September. The final tournament is a two-day Classic. Our regular tournaments payback 50%, 30% and 20%(1st, 2nd, 3rd) of the $30.00 fee per boat, less expense for plaques.  Each boat is also eligible to participate in a big fish contest for $10.00 per boat (winner takes all).   We fish  stretches of the Upper James from Bentcreek down to Watkins.   Usually you may choose from the top two landings to launch, and must take out at the landing designated for weigh-in.
